Because all preemies and newborns are different, and need different pacifiers at different stages of development, we’ve created not just one but TWO preemie pacifiers!
The Preemie Kit is designed for both preemies AND newborns offering a Preemie Tiny version for those first few weeks as well as a Preemie Stage 1 that will help your little one transition to our standard Cutie PAT Stage 1.
We learned through developing this Preemie pacifier that Preemies need different pacifiers at different stages of development. Additionally, we learned that Preemie babies only need the tiny nipple up until 35 weeks. After 35 weeks, they should begin the transition to a standard stage 1 nipple. Hence why I created the Preemie Kit!
The Preemie Kit includes:
Cutie Preemie Tiny: For babies up to 35 weeks
Cutie Preemie Stage 1: For babies over 35 weeks. This nipple is the same as our Cutie PAT Round Stage 1 and is safe for newborns and babies without teeth!
Both the Cutie Preemie Tiny and the Cutie Preemie Stage 1 feature a notched shield that allows room for breathing, CPAP tubes, ET tubes, tube feeding, etc. The slim shield and the small beaded design both ensure that the Cutie Preemie is lightweight.
We strive to make parents’ lives easier with safe, high quality, multi-functional Cutie products. We understand life in the NICU can be stressful and we want to do whatever it takes to make it easier for both parents AND baby. Our goal with the Preemie Kit is to help parents transition their NICU babies to the Cutie PAT with ease.
If baby is showing bottle-feeding cues before 35 weeks, we suggest moving up to the Cutie Preemie Round Stage 1 Nipple early. We also recommend transitioning to the Cutie PAT Round Stage 1 around 40 weeks. Because all babies are different, please consult with your baby’s health care professionals and follow their recommendations.
Directions: Before FIRST use, sterilize pacifier in boiling water for 3 minutes and let air dry. Before EACH use, wash with warm water and mild soap, and complete a pull test inspection by pulling the nipple in all directions. Check for damages such as cracks, tears, and/or excessive wear. If damaged, discard immediately. Dishwasher safe, top rack only. Colorful foods, dyes and/or other liquids may cause discoloration and staining.
WARNING: To avoid a choking hazard, inspect before each use. If damaged, discard immediately. Nipple should be sucked on as a means to soothe, not chewed. For safety and hygiene, it’s recommended to replace after 4 weeks of use. Do not use if baby has teeth. Do not use without adult supervision. Do not tie around a child’s neck. Only use with pacifier clips that are CPSC compliant.
